  1. you are seriously my hair crush. You make me wanna just cut off my relaxed string ends but im going to wait until i graduate…9 months to go

  2. Hi Alicia. New to your blog. I’m a week from the BC. My new growth is super thick, probably similar to your hair. I was beginning to worry I would have trouble taking care of it when it gets long. Nice to see when I gets length years from now it can be managed and put into beautiful curls. How long did the knotting process take? Subscribing to your blog, looking forward to future posts on natural hair.

  3. Hi! Yes, it takes time getting use to the new texture, but you get the hang of it! It takes about 30 minutes to put all of the knots in, and I leave them in overnight. It takes a little less than 30 minutes to take them out and fluff the hair out a little. 🙂

  4. hi Alicia,
My hair has been natural for two years. I’m now thinking of doing a little bit of color; maybe some highlights. what has been your experience with color so far? did you think it damaged your hair to some extreme?

  5. Well hey there Alicia. Its Jonae! You recorded with me at JC recording studio. I have been natural for about 2 years now! 🙂 I was looking on youtube to gain more information about maintaining natural hair and ran past your video. And when I read your name… I was like ohhhhhh look at ALICIA!! You hair is beautiful as always. Love your site. What have you been up to missy? And wow….KIDS!!!! I had no idea! 🙂 Well I am expecting my second child now…its a girl! 🙂 Hope to hear from you soon. Take care. Oh and tell me what product do you use on your hair to keep it moisturized?

  6. I’ve never tried any hair color since being natural. There are so many different experiences out there when it comes to coloring. If you think your hair is ready for it, I say go for it! Nothing like a cute color in natural hair! 🙂

  7. O they came out beautiful. Ok, you make me want to go home and wash my hair NOW! LOL! Did you achieve this on wet or dry hair?

  8. Hi! It’s great to hear from you! extra virgin olive oil is my product of choice. I always recommend having an oil as a part of your regimen, and choosing a leave in of your choice. For most of my journey I used Cantu Leave in. 🙂
